Day in the Life
As an Event Operations Intern with the Illinois PGA, I help run championship events from start to finish—handling everything from course setup before sunrise to score collection and media content by sunset. Here's what a typical tournament day looks like:

01
Early Setup (5:00 AM Start)
I arrive at the course two hours before the first tee time to help set up signage, prepare starter stations, and make sure everything is tournament-ready. I double-check pairings, organize rules sheets, and ensure the first tee runs smoothly.
02
Player Coordination
Once players begin arriving, I help manage check-in, communicate rules, and keep things on schedule. It’s my job to ensure every group starts on time and understands the day’s format and local rules.

03
On-Course Operations
By midday, I rotate roles with the other intern and start checking pace of play across the course. I respond to rules questions, restock water and snack stations, and support any players or staff who need assistance.
04
Scoring & Content
As players finish, I help collect and verify scorecards, begin teardown, and assist with packing up. Throughout the day, I capture photos and stories for Instagram and blog content to help promote the event.
